The editor’s mail – the messages of Petelei István

Summary/Abstract: Petelei was an editor of the Kolozsvár newspaper, which first appeared in late 1886. Besides Petelei, the writer, we can also speak of his work as a journalist. In this essay I would like to present this Transylvanian journalist, who ran the newspaper for five years. I also present some of his remarkable articles, which serve as messages to the readers, but which also reflect his personality as a writer and a journalist in the second half of the 19th Century.
