Summary/Abstract: The problem of the paper has been formulated as a question of how to determine the optimum batch size for continuous batch and multi-phase production in the conditions of an advanced technological environment. The second problem of lower order has been presented, how to determine the net production function and gross profit function for a given volume of gross production time. The second problem was solved by using a total waste time function. The optimum batch size for which the profit after deducting the costs of stock holding reached a maximum value was found. The optimum batch size was determined also to maximize the unit profit. Calculations were performed using Solver. The best gross annual profit was achieved for the batch size for the maximum unit profit. The annual gross profit increase for the best optimum batch size in comparison with a batch size equal to the monthly demand is a measure of the enterprise performance.
