Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to describe the modernization activities which, according to the author, can be made by the editor, while working on the texts of Józef Ignacy Kraszewski. The article shows which notations can be modified, as the change does not eliminate the idiostyle and idiolect of the writer (features such as replacing small letters by capital letters, replacing separable spelling by combined spelling or improved punctuation), and which should be left without interference (delimitation of text, lexis, inflection and spelling reflecting the actual articulation).
