Summary/Abstract: It seemed to be that at the beginning of 50s relations between communist authorities and Roman Catholic Church became more stable. The agreement was signed on 14th April, 1950; claimed that the Roman Catholic Church would not stand up to authorities policy instead Religion Education would be taught in schools moreover, secular and clergy teachers would be respected at the same level. However, the obligations were ignored by authorities when clergy felt an aversion to the Stockholm appeal which was passed and signed during the III Session of World Peace Council in March, 1950. They did not manage to include episcopate into it, signatures of support were being collected as well thanks to Provincial Committee of Peace Offenders. Priests from Białystok province were critical, only few of them took part in actions by the District and Country Peace Committees.
