Summary/Abstract: This article is dedicated to the Catholic Church and its mission in the Russian Empire in the 18th and 19th centuries, taking into account the historical background and the events of the First and Second World Wars. Boleslawa Lament, the founder of the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Holy Family, came to life at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The guiding charism of the congregation was profound concern for the Catholic education of the young.
