Summary/Abstract: Managing relationships with students in higher education is increasingly becoming of interest to both researchers involved in the marketing, as well as those responsible for the management of universities. It is stressed that building a relationship between partners is closely related to the benefits it might bring to the relationship and the costs to incur in connection with the building. The article presents the most important benefits of the relationships between the university and its major customers, namely students. The paper characterize benefits for universities, and stresses the important role of students they play in building these relationships themselves and the benefits they derive from the relationship with the university.
