Services sector in the contemporary economyin Poland and in the world

Summary/Abstract: The services sector plays an increasingly important role in the global economy and in the economies of individual countries. Polish economy is undergoing transformation as well. The purpose of this paper is to present the state and development of the services sector in recent years in Poland against other selected countries in the world. The most important indicators of Polish services sector (such as the number of employees, or the participation in gross value added) were characterized. The structure of the Polish services sector was also shown. The situation was compared to selected countries.
