Summary/Abstract: Together with the opening of markets and the appearance of the region competition, the concept of tourist marketing gains more force. Its major task is to fulfill the expectancies of different group of tourists in a way that would be an advantage to the region. The knowledge of preferences and behaviour of the potential clients allows the local governments to prepare an appropriate tourist offer. In Opole region this offer is relatively rich and attractive in such a way that you can rest there both at the weekends and during holidays. However the existing capabilities of the region are, according to the experts, not used properly. The tourist accommodation and resting facilities are not well developed and advertised.
