Summary/Abstract: The author presents and analyses the Transylvania Trophy-winning movie of Anand Gandhi(The Ship of Theseus, 2012) from the perspective of the Lacanian theory of the Self and the Other,the Allegory of the Cave from Plato, with references to Descartes, etc.It concludes that each of the three main narrative lines of the movie represents a unique pathway to enlightenment by and with the Other, who becomes part of the Self.
