Summary/Abstract: This work is characterized by chronological and thematic manner. The main research problem of this article is to establish the facts about the functioning of the administrative apparatus of the Polish Army in the General District “Lwów”. All of the elements relating to the organizational structure of the District Command are included. By the way, the personal department of the management was reconstructed. Between 1919-1921 the General District “Lwów” was one of military units in Poland. The administration of the subject area belonged to the General District “Lwów” Command placed in Lwów. The District covered 37,400 square km. According to the public list from 1921 almost 3,5 mln people lived within the District’s frontiers. For the whole discussed period the General District Command “Lwów” was the main war institution in East Małopolska. The chiefs standing on the District’s head had different prerogatives and competence. In general, they controlled material, money and tax economy of these formations and they concerned with discipline and order. The essential aim of the District chief was constant cooperation with representatives of the authorities and the local people.
