Summary/Abstract: The subject of interest of this paper is the ‘ethnic gaps’ existing in the Macedonian society as an obstacle to political integration of the state. These ‘ethnic gaps’ have a direct adverse effect on the relations between the Macedonians and the Albanians, but also in terms of attaining the strategic goals of the state. Without a good political integration, without a good balance between the rights and the responsibilities of the community and without a good multicultural functional model, Macedonia cannot make any progress. Overcoming the state in which the ‘ethnic gaps’ hinder the socio-political integration presents a condition which unless met will not enable the Republic of Macedonia to generate a ‘more civil’ society and a major development and progress of both the state and the society.
