INTEGRATING CULTURAL ASPECTS IN TEACHING ROMANIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGES - LEVELS A2-B1. CHALLENGES

Summary/Abstract: The paper's main objective is to highlight the possible barriers met in integrating cultural aspects in a lesson of Romanian as a foreign language (A2-B1). Regarding them as challenges would definitely guide us in suggesting some ways of overcoming them in order to get to such a result: an interactive, complex, interesting lesson - covering both linguistic standards and cultural background issues. Thus, our paper starts with the question how to expose students to the cultural background of the language they are studying without them having the necessary level to read in Romanian and the complete frame of understanding the typical cultural and traditional elements. Our target is to expose some methods and contexts that would make this possible, to present some texts that would help them get an insight of the Romanian culture and to list the steps of tailoring such a course that comprises both grammatical and vocabulary issues and cultural ones.
