On language correctness of Polish posts on pl.delfi.lt discussion group

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses issues of language correctness of texts written in Polish but published outside Poland on pl.delfi.lt discussion group (established March 2012). We analyse deviations from the standard Polish in various areas: spelling, punctuation, syntax, morphology and semantics. Moreover, we discuss the main causes of these changes: extralinguistic factors and the negative influence of Lithuanian and Russian. A study of selected items revealed that a number of incorrect forms appear in direct speech, which might have been caused either by the unwillingness of editors to interfere with odd texts, or by the lack of linguistic competence.
