The IMF and The Global Crisis

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present the main changes in IMF’s lending instruments after the outbreak of the global financial and economic crisis 2007/2008. The research shows that facilities used in case of problems with the balance of payments were modified and new precautionary instruments were created. The demand for particular credit lines was reflected in arrangements between member countries and IMF after the collapse of Lehman Brothers. These tendencies reflected structural problem underlying the crisis.
