Summary/Abstract: The meaning of being a Christian constitutes the main criterion in discovering one’s religious identity. One can look at many examples of saintly individuals, by comparing them with ordinary ones. For us, it will be the Fatima children, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco, who will serve as an example of discovering one’s religious identity – and especially the answer to the question of what it means to be a Christian. Their suffering, their sense of abandonment, as well as humility, gentleness, and trust, as a road to holiness paved by the Blessed Mother of God, will provide an example of discovering one’s religious identity in one’s concrete history and circumstances.
