Summary/Abstract: The article investigates the specific of pedagogical activity of the famous Ukrainian film director Leonid Osyka (1940–2001). The author reconstructs the process of Leonid Osyka’s formation as a pedagogue and an artist, making a deep analysis of a wide variety of sources. The researcher has defined the factors that had influenced formation of Osyka’s pedagogical views, as well as a structure and the peculiarities of functioning of the cinema faculty of Ivan Karpenenko-Kariy’s Kyiv institute of theatrical arts institutions where an artist taught, presented the list of his students.
