THE BEGINNINGS OF COLLECTIVIZATION IN ROMANIA

Summary/Abstract: In this article I propose to reconstruct the main developments taking place in the collectivization of the Romanian agriculture. Focusing on year 1949 the present study relies on edited and unedited sources from Romanian and foreign archives, strongly aiming at illustrating the main legislative and socio-economic mechanisms put in place by the communist regime in an effort to enforce the collectivization of the Romanian agriculture.
