Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to summarise the main facts and figures pertaining to the health conditions of the Romani/Gypsy population in Hungary. Their physical and mental health conditions are not entirely inherited - rather, they depend on the socio-economic circumstances of the given population. The life conditions of the Romani population are disadvantageous compared with the majority population of Hungary. The traditional Romani culture also influences the health conditions of this population. According to recent research, intellectuals possessing a Romani background are particularly endangered.
