Summary/Abstract: In March 2016 extreme right wing party Kotleba – People’s Party Our Slovakia (L’SNS) received 8,04% of votes in parliamentary elections. After being banned in 2006, the organization was reestablished in 2010 and in 2013 its leader – Martin Kotleba – won direct regional election for the mayor of Banská Bystrica region. The aim of the article is to examine the role of Banská Bystrica region as a party bastion (the area characterized with high support for the organization) and its importance for surpassingly high result in 2016 election.
