Suburbanization processes and electoral participation. An example of cities with the rights of the poviat of West Pomerania

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate the existence of correlations between the process of suburbanization and electoral participation in Western Pomerania. For the purposes of this article, the analysis was narrowed to cities with county rights such as: Koszalin, Szczecin and Swinoujscie and their neighboring municipalities. Presenting an analysis of changes in electoral participation in municipal elections in the years 2002–2014 and compiling them with the results of the parliamentary and parliamentary elections in the years 2001–2015 will give an attempt to find an answer on question: are new residents of municipalities for cities with powiat status defined as “community”?
