Summary/Abstract: This study aims to interpret the short stories collection Family Ties (Laços de família,1960) of the Brazilian author Clarice Lispector. Her approach to narration corresponds to the epoch of modernism in South American literature. Her stories problematize questions of identity and cultures on the level of the story and discourse.
