Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author attempted to present the role of European Union (EU) cohesion policy for the years 2014-2020 in counteracting negative effects of climate change. To this end, the EU’s position on the anthropogenic concept of climate change, the issue of adaptation to climate change as the objective of the current cohesion policy and the challenges and threats of the EU climate and energy policy for Poland were presented.
