Summary/Abstract: The decision-making process within organizations is increasingly based on information, the latter being an ally of management when it is accurate, appropriate and appreciated to its fair value. Information is of increasing importance in any area, but a particular category of information is the one relevant to the economic and financial environment. Given the importance of this information for a company’s development, for maintaining a competitive market, gaining new spheres of economic influence, etc., there is a need to protect the information that each company manages. Threats to cyberspace are more worrying given that mutual interconnection and interaction between cyber systems and infrastructures in different economic sectors (financial, banking, transport, energy, etc.) has been created and any risk or attack on the system cybernetic shall consequently weaken also the sectors they are interdependent with. The concern of decision-makers, state or service provider within the information society must be that to observe the fundamental human rights and freedoms, to provide the protection of any and all information held, to ensure free access to information for users in maximum security conditions.
