Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to introduce the essence, meaning and possibilities of using the results of self-assessment and the specifics of proceeding in the application of different self-assessment methods of quality management system in an organization focused on results. The study includes self-assessment according to ISO 10014:2008 and ISO 9004:2010 and the EFQM Excellence Model. Self-assessment is an important instrument to assess the effectiveness of quality management system and improvement of the organization. It is based on a comprehensive and systematic review of the activities and results of the organization. The results of the review may be the basis to determine maturity degree of the management of functioning system. Carried out self-assessment will help identify strengths and weaknesses. The results can determine the input data to make a mandatory review of the quality management system. Self-assessment can also help with the identification of abilities to improve management system and organization, and priority actions aimed at achieving sustainable success of the organization. It is executed by means of a questionnaire. It consists of a set of questions which are evaluated. The self-assessment, based on objectivity, openness and fairness should bring added value to the organization and help identify opportunities for its improvement and achieve sustainable success in a competitive environment.
