Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze the environmental issues in the requirements of selected quality systems used in horticulture. The importance of this issue results from the progressive intensification of horticultural production, changes in law related to environmental protection, usage of plant protection products and the growing popularity of the quality assurance systems in horticultural farms. The analysis of selected quality system requirements revealed that environmental requirements play a significant role there. The principle for development of mutually beneficial relationships between agriculture, including horticulture, and the environment is the use of good agricultural practice. Principles of GAP are an important element of quality systems used in primary production, like integrated production, organic farming and GLOBAL GAP standard.
