Summary/Abstract: Literature research prove that Polish consumers eat honey sporadically, while the consumption of honey in the USA is several times higher. Therefore, it became interesting to know the factors influencing the selection of honey by Polish and American consumers. As the result of the conducted research it can be stated that the Polish consumers eat more likely honeys from different botanical origin than American consumers. People from both countries are more likely to choose liquid honeys. Polish people declare higher honey consumption per month but Americans are able to pay a higher price for honey. The main factors that drive consumers who buy honey are the price of honey and its sensory properties such as consistency and color. American consumers also pay attention to the esthetics of the packaging and the honey brand, which in the case of Polish consumers play very little importance.
