GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT SOME LANDSCAPES WITH GEOSITE CHARACTER FROM THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

Summary/Abstract: The Republic of Moldova has a gentle relief with plains and plateaus. This thing conditioned the appearance of specific landscapes with geosite character. Most of landscapes with geosite character are in the central and northern part of the country where the relief is more spectacular. The Dniester and the Raut rivers during theirs courses going through Sarmathian limestones easy soluble in water and hard rocks like granite and sandstone create specific landscapes. This landscapes are under human’s activity, most of the time it is destructive.
