Technology innovation credit as a source of financing innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises

Summary/Abstract: Innovative activity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in a changing environment provides an opportunity to increase their competitiveness. Insufficient financial resources, which may constitute a significant barrier, are a major problem in introducing innovations in SMEs. Therefore, it is important to provide financial support for these entities to enable the implementation of innovative solutions. Such a possibility is created by financial instruments implemented with the use of the EU funds. The aim of the paper is to analyse and assess the possibilities of supporting SMEs’ innovative activity from the EU funds based on the example of Sub-measure 3.2.2 Technology innovation credit offered in the framework of the Smart Growth Operational Programme.
