Summary/Abstract: The short text attempts to present, on the basis of materials furnished by the Publisher and the conversations with the editors, the problem of the editor’s responsibilityfor a young reader who is charged with the task of preparing such works for this kind of reader. On the basis of the activities of the Wydawnictwo Akapit Press Sp. z o.o. in Łódź the problems associated with the editorship of works for children and young people was presented. The text covers the problems associated with education, which means that the editors of literature intended for young readers should remember about the peculiar nature of such works i.e. the code of values inscribed into works intended for such readers.
