Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to highlight the importance of symbolic management in the context of the quest to obtain, maintain or defense of the corporate legitimacy. Thus, the essence and specificity of symbolic management is outlined. In addition, symbolic strategies were discussed in the context of the process of legitimization and the forms of symbolic actions implemented by the company were shown. This article is based on literature studies. The method of analysis of the sources and synthesis, induction and inference were used. Symbolic management studies help to better understand how companies shape stakeholder perceptions. The author was mainly interested in published research on the attributes of symbolic management, legitimization and impression management in the context of corporate communication with the stakeholders.
