Summary/Abstract: Number of people who want to learn Korean is increasing rapidly and teaching Korean as a foreign language has been expanding and gradually becoming a significant field in Turkey. For an effective language teaching new strategies and teaching methods need to be developed in order to develop students’ language and critical thinking skills.. TV commercials can be seen as rich resources for all language skills, vocabulary grammar and cultural components. If adapted and used properly, TV commercials can help students to expand their linguistic abilities and cultural knowledge. Also learning through TV commercials creates interest and highly motivates foreign language learners. This paper aims to present a perspective as to how TV advirtesements can be utilized in teaching Korean as a foreign language. In order to observe the contribition of TV commercials to the Korean language teaching and also learning small questionnarie has been conducted to the students. The participants of this study comprises of 44 students who learn Korean at Ankara University. The data obtained from their answers were defined with their percentage. According to the data obtained from this study implications of using advertisements in the classroom as a rich source of useful material for teaching the creative use of language have been discussed.and suggestions have been done for future studies.
