Summary/Abstract: The subject of this paper is to present the ways in which the authors of translations of the Gaius’ Institutions into Polish reflect the Latin legal terms. On the basis of various solutions adopted by translators, the author attempts to answer the question whether Latin legal terms, appearing in source texts of Roman law, should be left in the original form or their Polish counterparts should be found.
