Summary/Abstract: In the modern economy of intellectual capital companies decide about the knowledge and competence of their employees. They enable faster use of opportunities arising in the environment and, consequently, making a profit. Competence management in a modern organization should rely on creating the conditions for employees to further deepen their knowledge and thus they should contribute to the expansion of the intellectual capital of the organization. The main objective of the study is to identify the relationship between competence management and the size of intellectual capital of the organization. Formulated for the needs of the article research hypothesis is: competence management impacts the intellectual capital of the company in a significant way. The analysis is limited to the competence-oriented employee. Methods used in the study are the analysis of literature and references to studies conducted by experts.
