Summary/Abstract: The article presents a conceptual model, prepared for the process of riverside area’s activation in the city. It was constructed in the support of the research results, carried out in the years 2013-2014 on previously chosen urban riverside areas of Wroclaw. This model illustrates factors and relations between them as well as possibilities of their adaptation in the process of riverside area’s activation which result is supposed to be a development plan and/ or implementation of actions i.e. stimulators of activation − permanent or provisional. The essence of the model is recommendation a different ways of usage of the potential of riverside areas and their development, determined by the preferences of the wide group of users and investment possibilities. The presented model can be used to prepare the directions of actions or strategy of riverside area’s development, as well as in designing the process of stimulation of variants reflecting differing preferences and possibilities.
