Economic base of districts in the Lower Silesian province

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article was to identify the size and functional structure of the economic base of the districts of Lower Silesia and to show the changes in the years 2008, 2011, 2014. The study was conducted using indirect methods of measurement: Florence’s index of local specialization and Hoyt’s indicator of the surplus of employees. The results indicate a significant advantage of the absolute value of the economic base of Wroclaw, the highest rate of exogenous employment in highly specialized and monofunctional districts of Lower Silesia.
