Summary/Abstract: The image of Taras Shevchenko is considered as an integral component of national memory, which was formed in the 1920-s. The content, structure and mechanism of constructing of Taras Shevchenko’s image are analyzed according to the social-political and cultural transformation, creating new collective identity.
