Summary/Abstract: Perception of the reality and the nomination process (examples of folk names of plants in the language of inhabitants of Podhale) The article presents an analysis of folk names of plants, which reveals a sensual way of cognition of the physical world by humans and the role of perception in creating botanical lexis.
