Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes changes of exports, imports and trade balance in raw materials (excluding fuels) of EU country-members in 2006-2015. Raw materials are specific commodities and, therefore, trade balance in raw materials is less important than in other goods. The author illustrated a dominating position of the Netherland as a net exporter of raw materials in this period. Moreover, there were the following most important net exporters of raw materials in 2015: Sweden and Finland. Sweden was the second net exporter but Finland was the seventh net importer in 2006. Moreover, Germany was the most important net importer of raw materials in 2015 and second in 2006, whereas, Italy was the second net importer of raw materials in 2015 and first in 2006. The third net importer of raw materials was Great Britain and the fourth one was Spain in 2015 but their places were reversed in 2006. Poland was the eight net importer of raw materials in 2015 and ninth in 2006. There were illustrated relatively low shares of raw materials exports and imports in merchandise trade of the EU. Moreover, the author proved bigger importance of net importers than net exporters in EU international trade in raw materials.
