Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to analyse the particular features of videogames as media and compile ideas about this subject from reputable “New Media” studies that not examine videogame as full-fledged object of research. Methodology. The research methodology is the using of comparative, analytical and synthetic methods. This methodology allows the author separating features of videogames and comparing it to understand the place of the game among the other kinds of media. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of this work is a new comprehensive analysis of videogames as a complex phenomenon that reconsiders the possibilities of the media. Conclusions. In conclusion, some researchers don’t consider videogames as media, but on the other hand videogames are the most innovative type of “new media” because they can provide interactive virtual experience.
