Summary/Abstract: The paper concerns the evaluation of the management system in healthcare organizations. The aim of research was to evaluate the degree of maturity of the management system in the organizations from healthcare sector and to verify the hypothesis that the level of maturity of the management system in selected healthcare organizations is relatively low – it does not exceed 30% and the hypothesis that the maturity of the management system in public healthcare organizations is higher than in private ones. To create and collect research data a survey method was used. A questionnaire was distributed to the participants of postgraduate studies directed to the management of healthcare organizations and participants of postgraduate studies in the area of management in healthcare organizations. The results of the study show that the level of maturity of the management system in selected healthcare organizations is not low, because it is 51%. The analyses of the results show, however, that the maturity of the management system varies depending on the type of surveyed organization – if it is public one or private. This difference is clearly noticeable and surprising. The maturity of the management system of public organizations has been estimated at 48%, while in private at 56%. It means that, according to surveyed participants, in public organizations maturity level is lower than in private ones
