Summary/Abstract: The competitiveness of tourism enterprise largely depends on its ability to create innovations. This empirical article presents the results of the quantitative study carried out in 400 Polish hotels. The aim of this article is to identify the level of innovation activity in hotel companies in Poland and its differentiation in terms of size, standard and affiliation to a hotel chain. The first part of the article presents a review of previous studies on the differentiation of the innovation activity in the hotel industry. The second part introduces the methodology of empirical research. The results are presented in the third part. The survey shows that the most innovative hotels in Poland are large and belong to international hotel chains.
