Summary/Abstract: This article presents considerations about the differences between the design approach and the process approach in managing organizations in the context of stability and change. Intuitively, it seems that project management is particularly change-oriented. The uniqueness involved in the definition of a business project is reflected in the acceptance of the variability of operating conditions, as well as the ways of coping in a turbulent environment. Unlike it is in the case of processes, where the aim is to eliminate the variability of conditions in which they are implemented. However, a deeper analysis of a project and process management calls into question this intuitive belief. The article presents and defends a thesis that the project management is more oriented towards stability than the process management.
