Verifying the effectiveness of some diagnostic discriminant analysis models on the example of enterprises from Podkarpackie Voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: This article was an attempt to assess the financial condition of eight companies operating in Podkarpackie Voivodeship which applied for bankruptcy. The assessment was made by eleven models of the discrimnant analysis designed for companies operating in Poland. At the end of the work, the author included a summary and drew conclusions that five of the eight of the analyzed companies were at risk of bankruptcy but the other three companies were weak financially for one year before the bankruptcy. Presented disrimnant models not always properly reflect financial standing of researched companies and the evaluation of the companies financial situation should be made by many methods.
