Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the institution of an agency contract in the light of Polish law.At the outset, the Author presents general issues related to the source of regulation of agency contracts, the nature of the provisions governing that type of contracts, the concept and legal nature of agency contracts, types of agency contracts and their forms. Further parts of the article are devoted to the important issue of remuneration of the agent, as well as the rights and obligations of the parties that are typical for agency contracts. In subsequent sections, the Author discusses issues related to the termination of an agency contract, compensatory measures and contractual competition bans imposed on the agent.The final section deals with the issue of agency contracts in the context of private international law, including in particular determination of law governing agency contracts and its scope, as well as law applicable to the particular forms of agency contracts.
