Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with one of the fundamental rights of parents belonging to parental responsibility, the right of parents to determine the place of child’s residence. Emphasis is placed on situations where one parent changes the child‘s place of residence without the agreement with the other parent. The change of child’s residence within the Czech Republic as well as within European Union is analyzed, including the consequences arising from this legal act for both parents. Foreign legislations of this issue with possible de lege ferenda proposals are outlined as well.
