Summary/Abstract: The article describes the development of Roman law in the Middle Ages on the basis of the history of manuscripts Digest. Main attention is focused primarily on two versions of the manuscripts, Littera Florentina and Littera Bononiensis. The Medieval history of these two manuscripts illustrates that although Littera Florentina is older and probably more authentic version of the Digest, its influence on the development of Roman law in the Middle Ages is lower than the impact of Littera Bononiensis.
