Summary/Abstract: Communist ideology not only legitimate soviet totalitarian regime but also influenced and defined basement and direction of KGB activity and legitimized his repressions policy. Inner and international policy targets of communist party were also important to the KGB activity that influences it operational activity and its methods. Communist party was also important player in forming repression policy that implemented KGB. Also communist party obliged KGB her to do ideological and political educations functions. After 1954 inner and international situations of Soviet Union changed and it changed positions of KGB and its’ priorities, activities, methods, also the main targets almost hadn’t changed. Now KGB paid more attention to prevention of antisoviet activity not to physical repressions. To implement this task KGB used prophylaxis, psychological pressure and formation of public opinion through the media, ideological and political educations of society. Communist ideology did great influence to the KGB operational activity, to its understanding and evaluations of antisoviet activity. It was evaluated as class struggle that was initiated by the West, espe-cially by USA. That it why KGB paid more attention to specific groups of society such as youth, intelli-gentsia, former political prisoners and deportees and tried control all connection with West.
