THE SOCIAL INFLUENCE OF NATIONAL SECURITY THROUGH THE NEW MEDIA CHANNELS

Summary/Abstract: The new defense approaches are not strictly tied to the military dimension, and, therefore, they have connections with the fields of politics, economy, information, society and environment. The access of the broad public to information related to the national security matters is done through the mass-media and, recently, through the online and new media. Under these circumstances, the occurrence of a potential social influence process may produce undesired effects upon the decision making process related to the national security policies.
