Summary/Abstract: Edmund Bojanowski, a great patriot, writer and educationist, who loved his nation sought to preserve its culture, aiming at enriching children’s minds and hearts with these values in order to protect them through education. An important element of national heritage, which distinguishes us from other cultures and connects us is language and tradition. Bojanowski indications regarding his concern for the preservation of native language as the basic expression of national and cultural identity, a source of knowledge about man, learning about the history of Homeland as well as reference to tradition, may be a source of inspiration for contemporary reflections and pedagogical practice.
