The Town and the Association

Summary/Abstract: The collection of articles “Ethnology of the Space” (published in 2 serial volumes of “The Annual of “Ongal” Association” – V and VI) contains materials from the Anniversary Scientific Symposium which took place in the period 5.-8. October 2006 in Samokov town with an international participation. The event is devoted to three anniversaries which are connected with the past and the present of the Rila town – 550 years of the first documentation of Samokov with its current name, 75 years museum work in the town and 15 years of the formation of “Ongal” Association for anthropology, ethnology and folklore studies. This event was also accompanied by the first season of the “Balkan Cultural Filmbox” festival and it is realized by the financial support of Samokov municipality.
